Dyslexia: What, Why, How
In May B, May has trouble reading because the letters move around the page and words don't make sense. In the 1870s, dyslexia had not been discovered, but we now know that May had dyslexia. Below are resources and information about dyslexia.
What is Dyslexia?
Dyslexia (say: dis-LEK-see-uh) is a learning problem some kids have. Dyslexia makes it tough to read and spell. The problem is inside the brain, but it doesn't mean the person is dumb. Plenty of smart and talented people struggle with dyslexia.

Why Do Kids Have Dyslexia?
Scientists still aren't 100% why some kids have dyslexia. With the most common form of dyslexia, called primary dyslexia, kids are born with it. It's not contagious or a sickness.
